Micro Drone 3.0 NEO WiFi Camera Setup

The camera is quick to set up, it just snaps onto the top of the battery using the two magnetic terminals, facing forwards or backwards.

Important: We always recommend learning to fly the Micro Drone 3.0 NEO first, building up your flying skills confidently before attempting to use the camera. Take time to become a skilled flyer without the camera attached - using the controls, smooth take-offs, stable hovering, controlled turns, hardzard avoidance and smooth landings.

Once you are good at flying, you're ready to attach the camera.

When the camera is attached, power on the drone and the Camera module will generate a WiFi network MDX_xxxx which you can connect your phone to.

Install the Micro Drone 3.0 NEO App

Important: Ensure it is the correct App, called Micro Drone Fly - other Apps are not compatiable.
Here are links to download the App:
https://www.microdrone.co.uk/camera

Ensure all the phone permissions are enabled. Go to the phone's WiFi settings, connect to the Camera, open the App, select the device: Micro Drone 3.0 NEO, open the flight screen and the video feed should appear within a few seconds.

You can record footage directly to your phone or install a micro SD Card directly into the Camera module. Want to transfer footage from the SD card to your phone? We have a Smartphone dongle for iPhone and Android available here

Troubleshooting:

If you can't see the video, try restarting the App (force shutdown of the App), open again.
If you still can't see the video, check the phone is connected to the WiFi network with a Tick.
Try using a different device.
You should be able to see a small red flashing light indicator inside the camera module case (towards the back of the camera near the SD card slot).

The Micro Drone 3.0 NEO Camera does not have any wires for attachig to the Drone (unlike the earlier 3.0 model), it snaps onto the top of the drone and uses two battery terminals from the magentic connectors.

    Hi Tom

"How does one pair the camera?  Tried but no luck so far. No help from company either."

I did some research and found this website and registered, and also found the manual . I also found that the 3.0 Neo drone has an app for iPhone and Android. It did send a wifi signal. The app wouldn't pair at first - it was just searching continually. Then I disconnected the camera and reclipped it on with the drone switched on, and I suddenly found a message to pair the camera then got a live image on the iPhone. I notice there are 'beginners' rotor protectors available - I think I need them.

Tony, did you have to connect your iPhone to the drone's WiFi first, or did the app automatically find it and connect to it by itself?

    Hi Colin

It's a long time since I did this, so I can't remember the exact order, but looking at my comment, it seems that the drone would have been active and controllable from the phone before connecting the camera.
